We want to thank you for supporting our ambitions to create affordable housing in Naperville—BECAUSE IT IS WORKING!
Gorman, together with the Ray Graham Association, has been awarded an IHDA Tax Credit (worth approximately 13.5M of the total project 27 million dollars). This moves us closer to building affordable housing at 103rd Street and Route 59. The development will serve residents with 25% IDD (Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) and 75% Senior Citizens. There will be 71 apartments. It is a small start, but we want to show others that our young adults with IDD can independently live successfully with support.
The money we have raised, approximately $100,000 through our Golf Outings, will be spent on amenities in the main areas of the complex, including a sculpture, butterfly gardens, garden benches, and much more. The real estate closing should occur in late spring 2025, and construction should begin early to mid-summer. It is estimated to be a two-year process.
Thank you for your continued support!
Join us this Giving Tuesday, on November 26th, in bringing the magic of theater to everyone! ASP is raising funds for a new Audio-Visual system. Let's turn up the volume on empowerment and create a stage where abilities can shine!
Your generosity is key to unlocking unforgettable performances!
Enriching and enhancing the lives of those with IDD and their families by creating a housing footprint. We are currently working with the City of Naperville and Gorman & Company and Ray Graham Association to build housing for senior citizens and those with IDD. The plan includes approximately 72 apartments with 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, and 25% of the apartments are for those with IDD. This complex will be located at 103rd St. and Route 59, Naperville, Il.

Theater
A Special Place was created to give those with disabilities a place to make friends and have a great time. Theater gives them an outlet to express themselves and helps them develop self-confidence and stage presence. We hear their voices a little louder every year and see their smiles are a little bigger. They are excited to come to practice and be with their friends.
This next performance is Frozen and will be held at Alleluia Church on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at 7:00 pm and Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, time is TBD. The ticket donation request is $30.00 per person and must be purchased prior to the performance. Contact us by email at Cheryl@asp4us.org
Dance & Social Media
Our group from the theater was having so much fun we did not want it to end. So we decided to continue meeting on the 2nd Friday of every month at Alleluia Church, from 6-7:30 pm. We learn new dances that will be posted to social media!
Each Summer, we celebrate being together at our "Backyard Bash," where we share hot dogs and chips before the scavenger hunt and movie under the stars. Bring your stadium chairs and blankets!
Keeping Fit
A Saturday morning is a great time to work out at the park. Whether it is strength training, endurance training, or Yoga, it is always more fun with friends and, of course, a great instructor who cares about us!
Join Us!
We believe that each performance enhances the lives of all who participate. The volunteers have as much fun as everyone else. Once they join us, they become friends and volunteer.
WE NEED TO CREATE SUPPORTIVE HOUSING CLOSE TO HOME
OBSTACLES TO OVERCOME
WHERE WILL OUR ADULTS LIVE ONCE MOM AND DAD ARE NO LONGER HERE?
HOW DO WE INSURE THEY ARE SAFE?
WE MUST EDUCATE OUR NEIGHBORS AND POLITICIANS
THOSE WITH DISABILITIES HAVE LIMITED INCOME
SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY HOUSING DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS AREA FOR THIS GROWING POPULATION. THEY WANT TO STAY CLOSE TO WHERE THEY GREW UP. IT'S FAMILIAR AND IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THEY LIVE NEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
We get together about eight times a year and just do fun things together. Whether it's a theme of Halloween, New Year's Eve Party, Super Bowl party, we just enjoy being together and socializing.
Every summer we have an outdoor party where we have dinner and games with the guys from YMSL -Young Men's Service League.
Learn a new Dance and we will post it on our Social Media pages
We meet on the second Friday of the month April through July
6:00-7:30pm.
The location is Alleluia Church,
4055 Book Road Naperville, IL 60564
